Georgia: A Nation in Political Turmoil

This call for prayer comes at a time of public confusion and dissatisfaction following the recent election. It has also been a time of oppression for baptist churches from other religious groups.

Together, let us pray for this beautiful nation:

  • pray for peace following the recent elections

  • pray for its rulers

  • pray for protection for the body of Christ

  • pray for unity, reconciliation, healing in baptist churches

Georgia is a nation loved by God and by the European Baptist Federation family who have supported one church planting family for the last 5 years. Church planters, M.A. and N.A. are a married couple who with their family and a small team have been blessing the lives of many in the capital city Tbilisi and in other localities. Our church planter and his team have shared the good news of Jesus Christ with love and boldness.

From our Church Planter:

In order to help needy that live below the poverty line. We have social projects and so we have the possibility to share Good News to them. If someone needs a visit to the doctor or spiritual encouragement, we will try to be there for them. We invite or go as guests to pray and share the word of the Lord with the unreached people. When people see that you love them and care about them, they naturally become interested and ask questions. My main goal is to show people through our ministry that God loves them.

My wife N.A. is a very important member of our mission plant team. She, as a professional nurse, is very supportive of my ministry. Through our visitation, we have made a good impact on the unbelievers who need medical help and spiritual encouragement. For the last five years, we have been able to support the most vulnerable people who needed medical care. Through the medical and social ministry, we were able to get to know and establish a good relationship with some new people.

One of the important things I do in the ministry is to visit families and friends. These visits are very informal by nature that encourage family members to feel relaxed and speak about God’s word. If the social environment is friendly, I always offer them to talk about God. There are different people from other countries in the meetings. Two families from Ukraine joined our meetings and I have also Bible study lessons for the Kurdish population on the outskirts of Tbilisi.

We think it is very important to raise children with Christian values from the very beginning rather than when they reach their old age. Through the financial support from a Baptist Church we are able to send 8 children from my mission points to the Christian camp. I hope that it will be a very special time and experience for them to feel God’s love and mercy and start thinking about following Jesus Christ. We pray that their life will be transformed and completely changed through the Vocational Bible Study program.

There is also a group of children project staff who are very committed to helping our church plant team to share the Good News with Kurdish children and teenagers.

Prayer requests from our Church Planter M.A.:

  • Please pray for the people with whom we share God’s word that they will bear good fruit.

  • Pray that God will raise up new leaders and position them quickly so the gospel will spread in Jesus’ name.

Dear friends, as you have read about our church planter and his family's ministry, we ask that together you pray for M.A and N.A, for his marriage, children, ministry, strength and ongoing provision. Pray also for the whole family in Christ in Georgia as we also pray for the nation.
