Let us continue to pray for Poland, a country that has opened its heart and its churches to help the stranger, the needy and, above all, to courageously share the love of Christ among everyone, everywhere.
A few days ago we prayed for their theological and pastoral work, preparing about 100 students and their involvement in missionary work around the world. And this month we invite you to pray for the church planters we support in partnership as the EBF family.
We have 5 church planters and their families serving in Poland, as we pray for all church planters we will tell you about one of them and the beautiful work they do together with their families.
For example Samuel & Dominika S. in Bydgoszcz, at the Logos Baptist Church
Samuel S. writes:
“With a grateful heart, I bring you news of what God has been doing in Bydgoszcz over the past few months. While there is much to share, I have chosen a few highlights to give you insight into our ministry. Thank you for being a part of this mission. Together, we can witness God’s light spreading to new places, bringing hope and transformation. Each Sunday, we gather for worship, with two Sunday school groups operating alongside the service. During the week, we hold three Bible study groups and a youth meeting, with plans to start an additional Bible study group in January. Around 30 people are actively involved in ministry within the Church.”
Family Camp
“One of our annual church activities is organising a family camp, attended by families from across Poland. I serve as the camp director, supported by several families from Bydgoszcz and Kraków. This year, the camp was held from July 27th to August 3rd in Warsaw-Radość, with around 80 participants…… and plenty of fun and joy.”
Samuel has dedicated his time to discipleship, sharing the love of Christ and baptizing. But we see that one of the priorities is families and part of that is the family retreat where really powerful things have happened. The stories we hear of how the Holy Spirit is working in hearts, how in the midst of the relationship this church is impacting people from Poland and other nations as well. The church sees that this is a place where they can find God.
One of the most recent stories we heard is how a family from Russia has been impacted by the love of the church as well as people from Ukraine. This is where we see the love of Christ.
"When our community in Bydgoszcz started to stabilize, in the fall of 2023, Andrzej and Kasia, at the urging of friends, began to participate in a Bible study group led by me. At first, once a month, and later more and more often, they also began to attend services. After reading and studying the Letter to the Hebrews, in May they decided to take the greatest spiritual step together - to leave religiosity and fully entrust their lives and salvation to Jesus. They also immediately expressed their desire to publicly profess their faith in the waters of baptism. It took place on September 8. They invited many of their friends and family to this event, and during the service, they not only received baptism but also told everyone how God had changed their lives."
Women's Ministry
"Our women’s ministry is thriving. The women of our church meet occasionally for Saturday breakfasts to build relationships and study Scripture. They attended two conferences this fall and recently organized an outreach… Around 60 women attended, including many non-believers. The event, led by missionary Anna B., highlighted how God can use women with difficult pasts for His purposes. I am thankful for the wise, mission-oriented women in our Church and the growing fellowship between generations."
"On August 16th, my wife Dominika and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! We marked the occasion with a short getaway to the seaside. We deeply thank God for uniting us and calling us to serve Him together. Over the past decade, He has shaped us into His likeness. Our 3 children are doing well and growing quickly. Please pray for our family, our physical and spiritual health, and for wisdom for me and Dominika as parents, raising three small children."
This beautiful family, this wonderful church planting couple is just one example of what is happening in Poland. We have five church planters and one more waiting as we wait for a Partner to be part of supporting them.
Prayer Request from Samuel:
We are moving to a new location, please pray for competent contractors for specialist work and the favour of officials in issuing the necessary permits and fundraising.
Please also pray for three young women - Julia, Julia, and Ewelina, who are preparing to receive baptism.
For December 21, we are preparing a large evangelistic Christmas event. We want to welcome 30 families from our close area living on the edge of poverty.
Lets pray for our Church Planters & their families:
1. Mykola G
2. Serhii P
3. Roman S
4. Grzegorz S
5. Samuel S
And for those that will be supported in partnership very soon.
Let's keep praying, let's keep planting new Churches together.
