The warm sun of Portugal greeted the European Baptist Federation (EBF) Youth and Children’s Committee as we gathered for Connect 2025, a meeting of youth and children’s leaders from across Europe. Representing 16 countries, we came together at the scenic campsite of the Portuguese Baptist Convention. We were especially thankful for the Portuguese team, who served us overflowingly with warmth and hospitality. This time of fellowship and learning also marked significant goodbyes and exciting new beginnings.

The gathering focused on connecting with God, others, and ourselves. Through worship, workshops, and reflection, we explored deepening our faith and fostering meaningful relationships. Sharing our hearts with others in similar roles brought healing and encouragement as we prayed for one another and found strength in mutual understanding.

We bid farewell to dedicated leaders who left a lasting impact: Samantha Mail (DE), our faithful chair; Dimitar Nikolaev Georgiev (BG), our diligent treasurer; and Karl Tõnne (EE), a steadfast member at large. In their place, we welcomed Inger Lise Salvesen (NO) as the new chair, Gabriel Venturini de Souza (PT) as treasurer, Johann David Go (HR) as vice chair, and Nicola Laricchio (IT) as member at large. This new team carries the hope and vision for the committee’s future.

As the week ended, we departed with full hearts, grateful for friendships formed and lessons learned. This gathering was a reminder of our shared mission within the global Baptist community and the importance of equipping young people for God’s Kingdom work across Europe and beyond.
